Today we’re shipping the biggest update since we launched: Learn Sinhala v2.0.

What’s new

Save your progress with a personal account

You can now create a free Learn Sinhala account to track your progress across lessons and sessions. No more starting from scratch every time you visit — your completed lessons, quiz scores, and streaks are all saved and synced automatically.

Creating an account takes less than a minute. Just pick a username and password, and you’re in.

Sign in with Google

Prefer not to remember another password? We’ve added Google Sign-In, so you can get started with a single click. It’s fast, secure, and uses the same Google account you already have.

Cross-device sync

Your progress follows you everywhere. Sign in on your phone during your commute, continue on your laptop at home, and pick up exactly where you left off — your completed lessons, quiz scores, and streaks stay perfectly in sync across all your devices.

Why we built this

The most common request we’ve received is simple: “Can you save my progress?” Up until now, everything was session-based. If you closed the tab or switched devices, your streak disappeared.

That changes today.

With v2.0, Learn Sinhala works like any modern learning app.

What’s coming next

This release lays the groundwork for features we’ve been excited to build for a while:

  • Leaderboards — compare your streak with friends (coming soon)
  • Achievement badges — earn milestones as you advance (coming soon)
  • More advanced units — deeper grammar and vocabulary tracks

Try it now

Head over to Learn Sinhala and click Sign Up or Sign in with Google to get started. If you already have an account, just log in — your existing progress will be right there waiting for you.

As always, if you run into anything weird or have ideas for what we should build next, drop us a message on any of our social channels. We read every single one.

Happy learning, The Learn Sinhala Team
